Wendy brings experience supporting children and youth across hospital and outpatient mental health settings, including the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program at Michael Garron Hospital. In these roles, she has worked with young people presenting with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, developmental, and functional needs.
Wendy has extensive experience supporting individuals with autism through both clinical and research capacities and has also spent years teaching private music lessons to children and adolescents. These diverse experiences shape her therapeutic approach, allowing her to offer developmentally informed, creative, and engaging interventions that meet clients exactly where they are.
Her practice is strengths-based, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based strategies. Wendy integrates approaches informed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and occupational therapy frameworks to support clients in developing:
Executive functioning skills (organization, planning, task initiation)
Emotional regulation and coping strategies
Sensory processing supports
Daily structure and routines
School participation and academic readiness
Engagement in meaningful daily activities
Wendy strives to create safe, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic spaces where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered. She is passionate about building strong rapport and working closely with families to co-create strategies that foster confidence, independence, and overall well-being.
In her free time, Wendy enjoys baking, playing musical instruments, and exploring photography.
