In Ontario. The person needing care is in Ontario at the time of appointments.
For care, not paperwork. We don't take requests for court, custody, insurance, disability forms or other legal purposes.
Psychiatry scope. Our psychiatry service doesn't assess or treat active substance use, psychosis, bipolar disorder or eating disorders.
Eating concerns. Our registered nutritionist supports ARFID, restrictive eating and binge eating for people who are medically stable, starting with a brief screening.
Under 18. All legal guardians know about and agree to this request.

Child & youth psychiatry

One consultation of about 1 to 1.5 hours that looks at anxiety, depression, ADHD, behaviour and other concerns together.
You'll see Dr. Garcia-Thibodeau (online) or Dr. Wiesenthal (online, or in person at 1739 Bathurst Street). Dr. Wiesenthal's wait is longer.
Patients under 18 attend with a parent or legal guardian.
Psychiatry is consultation only. A report goes to your doctor, who continues prescriptions and care.

OHIP · referral needed

Adult psychiatry

One consultation of about 1 to 1.5 hours with Dr. Julien Blacklock.
Dr. Blacklock assesses anxiety, depression and OCD. He does not assess ADHD.
Psychiatry is consultation only. A report goes to your doctor, who continues prescriptions and care.

Is ADHD the only reason you'd like to see the psychiatrist? *

Psychiatry at Whole Heart doesn't assess ADHD in adults. Our Nurse Practitioners offer private ADHD assessments, with no referral needed. We'll email you their details and booking links instead.
