Social Worker
Varenya Kuhathaas is a Registered Social Worker with extensive experience supporting children, youth, and families through a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges. She is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor.

Varenya’s clinical background is diverse and includes work in the non-profit sector, school board collaborations, treatment centres for children and youth, and community-based programming. She is trained and accredited through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy and is certified in the Triple P Primary Care and Fear-Less Program an evidence-based model focused on strengthening positive parenting and reducing childhood anxiety. She has served on multiple York Region committees and developed programs aimed at promoting healthy parent child attachment.

Varenya has experience supporting individuals and families navigating grief and loss, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and attachment-based concerns. Her therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded in a client-centered philosophy.

She integrates a blend of evidence-based modalities including Art and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Varenya strives to create a safe, nurturing space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen coping skills, and move toward greater emotional well-being.
