Samantha Hofman, MSW Candidate

Social Work Intern
Samantha is a recent Master of Social Work graduate from the University of Windsor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, along with a post-graduate certificate in Child and Infant Mental Health. Samantha brings experience supporting children and youth across a range of settings, including community mental health, hospitals, and schools. She is passionate about promoting the wellbeing of children, youth, and their families, and is committed to practicing from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens.

Samantha places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, recognizing it as a
foundational component of meaningful and effective therapy. She takes an eclectic,
client-centred approach, integrating trauma-informed practices to meet each client’s
unique needs. Her work focuses on supporting youth and young adults in building
resilience, developing practical coping skills, and strengthening their sense of self.
She works collaboratively with clients to explore and better understand their emotions,
foster emotional awareness, and develop healthy coping strategies, including
mindfulness techniques.
Samantha has completed training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), with a
focus on group support following traumatic events. She has also completed a Family
Therapy Treatment Seminar through SickKids Hospital, along with additional training in
trauma-informed and anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice.
Samantha is excited to continue her work with Whole Heart Mental Health and
Wellbeing, where she is dedicated to building strong therapeutic relationships and
collaborating with clients to support them in creating meaningful and fulfilling lives. She
is passionate about empowering clients to recognize their strengths, build confidence,
and develop the skills needed to navigate challenges with greater independence and
resilience.
