Ruth specializes in individual and family therapy, parent coaching, crisis intervention, and high-conflict family mental health assessments. She spent more than a decade at The Hospital for Sick Children within the Eating Disorders Program, Psychiatry Department, and Transgender Clinic. Her extensive experience allows her to support clients through a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural concerns.
Ruth deeply values diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space for clients of all family structures, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and religious experiences. Her clinical background includes working with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, somatization, complex mental health presentations, racial trauma, parent-child conflict, family discord, transgender youth, and stigma related to weight and body image.
Ruth holds a Master of Social Work degree from McGill University, where she was awarded a fellowship for her commitment to working with children. She is registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Ruth has completed certificate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) through McGill University’s Centre for Continuing Medical Education, and has additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systems Therapy, and Family-Based Treatment for adolescent eating disorders.
