Richard spent nearly fifteen years working in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at Michael Garron Hospital, where he provided outpatient therapy, parent support, and family intervention. In addition to his hospital work, he has maintained a private practice focused on helping individuals and families strengthen communication, manage stress, and navigate emotional and relational challenges.
Richard draws from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). His work emphasizes parent coaching, couples therapy, and individual and family therapy. Through skill-building, psychoeducation, and supportive counselling, he helps clients develop effective strategies for coping with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
