Gillian’s clinical background includes extensive work in child welfare and at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), where she supported children and families facing anxiety, depression, somatization, school refusal, adjustment to illness, and co-occurring mental and physical health challenges. Alongside her clinical work, she has long been passionate about complementary health and the healing power of food, plants, and nature. This led her to practice holistic nutrition for many years before blending it with psychotherapy to offer a whole-person approach to care.
Gillian is formally trained in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She integrates these approaches through a trauma- and attachment-informed lens, meeting clients where they are and supporting them in building self-awareness, emotional connection, and inner harmony. She takes a non-pathologizing approach, helping individuals understand and work compassionately with all parts of themselves.
Today, Gillian focuses on supporting mothers through postpartum anxiety and depression, and empowering parents to emotionally connect with their children and create meaningful change within their families. Her work is warm, grounded, and collaborative centred on helping families heal and thrive.
Gillian holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
