In her role as an intern, Cassandra is deeply committed to building strong therapeutic relationships. She views the therapeutic alliance as the foundation for meaningful and lasting change and approaches each client with respect, curiosity, and compassion. She strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where children, youth, and caregivers feel safe exploring sensitive emotions and personal challenges.
Cassandra practices from a trauma-informed, client-centered lens and integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills
Mindfulness-based techniques
Her work focuses on helping clients develop practical coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and build resilience across life’s challenges. She tailors her support to each child, teen, or family’s unique needs—whether navigating difficult thought patterns, peer stressors, family dynamics, or developmental transitions.
Cassandra has completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), trauma-informed training, and DBT training, and remains committed to ongoing professional development to expand her clinical skills. She believes that seeking therapy is a brave and empowering step, and she is dedicated to supporting clients as they work toward greater wellness, confidence, and connection.
Outside of her clinical and teaching roles, Cassandra enjoys iced lattes year-round, hiking, reading, cooking and baking, pilates, and sports. She values time with family and friends and strongly believes in the mind-body connection recognizing how meaningful activities support emotional and mental wellness for both children and adults.
