Occupational Therapist
Maya Stein is an Occupational Therapist at Whole Heart Mental Health & Wellness, specializing in supporting transitional-age youth and adults with mental health, daily functioning, and life-skills challenges. She brings extensive experience from both community and hospital settings, including her current work at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

At CAMH’s Slaight Centre for Early Intervention, Maya supports young people living with primary psychotic disorders as they work toward goals related to school, employment, independence, and recovery. Her combined experience at Whole Heart and CAMH allows her to blend deep clinical expertise with a compassionate, practical, and skill-building approach.

Maya’s practice is person-centered, holistic, and strength-based. She values every client’s lived experience and tailors intervention plans to their unique goals, abilities, and challenges. She is particularly skilled in helping clients improve:

  • Executive functioning skills (organization, planning, task initiation, time management)

  • Daily structure and routines

  • School participation and academic habits

  • Employment or volunteer readiness

  • Engagement in meaningful, wellness-supportive daily activities

Maya is committed to helping clients build sustainable habits, functional independence, and a stronger sense of confidence in their everyday lives. Her work is grounded in empowerment, collaboration, and a deep respect for the recovery process.

She holds a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto and is registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Maya also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in the University of Toronto’s Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science program.
