As we get ready to begin our week lets remind ourselves about the importance of self care; an area that often gets missed.
Today we live in a society that is so fast paced, so hectic and so future oriented that it can be difficult to take the time and nurture ourselves. Tiny voices in our head can give us a million reasons as to why we shouldn’t practice self-care- “I won’t have time”, “the kids will need me”, “I’m too tired”, “what’s the point” “its selfish”.
Where do we get these ideas that self-care is in fact self-indulgent rather than an act of self-respect? Self-care is about making a conscious choice to replenish and show gratitude to yourself. By nurturing our own self, this allows us to show this same kindness to others.
