“Connection Matters” – Teen social skills group
Is your teen struggling to develop the skills to socialize and form connections with others?
Connection Matters is a virtual social anxiety, skills and social connection group for teens aged 14-17.
Connection Matters focuses on helping participants improve their ability to create and maintain friendships and to feel more confident and connected.
Session material draws on several therapeutic approaches including DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
Participants learn about:
- How to create and maintain friendships and feel more confident and connected with others
- Communication skills
- Healthy relationships
- Conflict resolution skills
- Self-esteem and identity
- Ways to manage stress and emotions
Who should join:
Teens who are struggling with their social skills will benefit by learning strategies to help them establish and develop the ability to interact and connect with their peers.
