I have spent the last ten years working with individuals, families, adolescents and children in both a teaching and therapeutic role, working with a diverse range of people including many dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions and trauma. When I listen to my clients’ stories and start to connect with who they are I am inspired by their resilience.
I support the change process and help people make the shifts they want to make. As a clinical social worker and therapist, I endeavour to create a safe space for healing. This includes incorporating an understanding and appreciation of clients’ realities (including race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion) into treatment.
I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I am also a registered clinician through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Mental Health Counselling Services through Health Canada.
My primary approach is through cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioural therapy (DBT), trauma focused therapy and mindfulness. Through my strengths based approach, I help clients overcome obstacles, learn new coping skills, improve communication, and learn how to enjoy life more fully.
