Daisy is a warm hearted passionate child and youth worker committed to helping children, youth and their families. She has 15 years of exposure and experience in counseling, formulating behavioural modification plans and facilitating skills workshops. She has a diverse background working in various settings from schools, residential, emergency department to acute in-patient psychiatric programs. She has a prime focus and is highly skilled in working with children and youth with:
mental health disorders such as anxiety, mood disorder, personality disorders, suicidality, addiction and psychosis. She draws from numerous treatment modalities and best practices such as Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and crisis interventions, which enables her with the flexibility to meet a client’s unique needs.
She is enthusiastic and creative in her therapeutic process while using means such as, play, art, media, physical activity to strengthen her therapeutic rapport, help build the insights, skills they need to address their challenges and promote functioning in their lives.
Daisy cultivates a therapeutic relationship grounded in the belief that all people have innate virtues who are worthy and deserving of empathy, non-judgment and acceptance. She encompasses a strength based and holistic framework to help facilitate pathways to self-fulfillment and wellness.
Daisy is registered with the college of Psychotherapist and has a diploma with honours in Child and Youth Work. She recently completed certification in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy through the Linehan Institute.
Daisy is happiest when in the presence of her family, friends and her children. She enjoys a good book, travel, listening to music, international cuisine and quieting her mind with meditative practices.
